Additional meeting and call-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Hi @YH,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Regarding your concern about anonymous users being able to register and join a webinar event, please see the recommendations below:
First issue Prevent anonymous users from registering and joining the event If you want to ensure that only authenticated users can register and join, please follow these steps:
- Go to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center
- Navigate to Meeting policies
- Select Global (Org-wide default)
- Disable the option "Anonymous users can join a meeting unverified"
You could refer to this article for a better view : IT Admins - Manage lobby options in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
Once this setting is disabled, users will be required to sign in with a work account to register and join the event. Users without a valid work account will not be able to participate.
Second issue – Control lobby bypass To restrict who can bypass the lobby:
- Set "Who can bypass the lobby" to "Only organizers and co-organizers"
With this configuration, only organizers and co-organizers can join directly, while all other participants must wait in the lobby until admitted.
If I’ve misunderstood any part of your requirement, please feel free to clarify so I can assist you more accurately.
Thank you again for your time and patience. While this initial response may not fully resolve the issue, your feedback will help refine the solution further.
