Hello,

I don't wish to have my name auto-capitalized, but Outlook keeps change it from "[Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]" to "[Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] ". I would like to to remain "[Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]" (lowercase '). Is there a way to set Outlook to stop autocapitalizing it?

I'm on Mac. Version 16.109.2

TIA.

    Hi @anthony w acock

Thank you for sharing your concern.
Based on my research, New Outlook for Mac does not provide an option to add a specific word (such as your name) to a custom dictionary directly within the app. This is different from apps like Word, where an “Add to Dictionary” option is available.

In New Outlook, spelling and correction behavior is largely tied to the macOS system and does not expose a dedicated dictionary management option. Because of this, there isn’t a way to selectively exclude only your name from auto-capitalization within Outlook itself.

Alternatively, you may consider unchecking “Correct spelling automatically” in Outlook settings. However, please note that this will affect all spelling and correction behavior, not just your name.

    I hope this helps.
