    Hi @armen Jost,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I would like to provide you with the following information:

You will not be able to directly convert a newly registered account into a student account.

Microsoft student accounts can only be created and assigned by the school’s administrator (IT department) through the Admin Portal.

Once created, your Microsoft student account will be managed, configured, and controlled by the school’s administrator.

To obtain this account, you should contact your school’s IT department for assistance with account provisioning.

I hope this information is helpful

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.

To switch from a Microsoft 365 Education trial to a full student account, the school’s academic eligibility and your Education subscription must be verified and converted before the trial ends.

    Use this process:

    1. Confirm that the Microsoft 365 subscription in use is an Education trial:
      • Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center for the tenant created during the trial.
      • In the Simplified view, select Subscriptions, or in the Dashboard view, go to Billing > Your products.
      • Look for Office 365 A1 for faculty Trial and Office 365 A1 for students Trial.
    2. If those trials are not present:
    3. Verify academic eligibility for Yorkville University:
      • After the Education trial is set up, Microsoft must verify the school’s academic eligibility.
      • Use the Microsoft 365 admin center to track the eligibility status and, once approved, purchase or assign the appropriate Microsoft 365 Education subscriptions (such as Office 365 A1 for students) at academic pricing.
    4. Once the school is approved and licenses are available, ensure the student account at Yorkville University is assigned a student license (for example, Office 365 A1 for students). That account then becomes the full student Microsoft 365 Education account instead of just a trial.

If unsure whether the trial tenant or eligibility process is already set up, contact Yorkville University’s IT or Microsoft 365 administrator so they can verify the institution’s status and assign the correct student license to the university email account.
