Someone is repeatedly trying to access my account but I didn't get any security updates until today

There have been multiple failed sign in attempts on my account daily from different origins all over the world and not one time was I informed of this unusual activity until today. I can't even tell if my account was compromised because the session activity only states "Unusual activity detected". I can see that sign in attempts have been made daily since 14th of May. What's going on? Is my Data and accounts on my laptop safe it should I do something more?

On the link below, if all attempts to access your account from other locations you do not recognise are indicates as unsuccessful, then your account was not accessed by anyone else.

Thanks but the email alert I got from Microsoft showing where the sign in was from and which phone etc. So I suspect they did manage to sign. The rest were unsuccessful so should it say unsuccessful sign in (like others before this) instead of unusual activity detected? I'm just worried about my devices being compromised.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you checked the recent activity on your Microsoft account online and all those login attempts are indicated as unsuccessful, then your account and data is safe, an online bot is trying to hack your account.

You cannot stop the hacking attempts, it will eventually stop, to secure your account, the best option is to ensure you have a long and strong password on your account and as an extra layer of security enable two factor authentication on your account.
