Hello,

Currently have the Microsoft copilot 365 GCChigh license but i cannot get copilot to show up in my teams chat. Only on the sidebar. Is this because Its not compatible under Teams GCCH Environment?

Thank you

If your organization's specific tenant has received the update to allow the standalone Copilot app within the main interface, it must be explicitly enabled and pinned by an IT Administrator.

If you are an admin (or need to guide your IT team), here are the steps to add it:

    1. __Go to the Teams Admin Center:__ Log in to your GCC High Teams admin panel.
    2. __Navigate to App Setup Policies:__ Go to Teams apps > Setup policies.
    3. __Edit your Policy:__ Select the policy applied to your users (e.g., the Global (Org-wide default) policy).
    4. __Add the App:__ Under Pinned apps, click Add apps.
    5. __Search for "Copilot":__ Search for the Microsoft 365 Copilot app (ensure it is the official enterprise version, not a third-party app).
    6. __Pin and Save:__ Click Add, place it where you want it on the app bar (ideally near the top right under "Chat"), and click Save.

__Note for GCC High Admins:__ It can take up to 24 hours for setup policies to propagate to end-user Teams clients. If it still doesn't appear after being pinned, your specific GCC High sub-tenant wave may still be restricted to sidebar-only capabilities while backend compliance protocols finish deploying.

    Dear @juan camacho,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Please understand that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to cover your organization domain name in the description. Please notice to hide these personal or organization information next time you post error or some information to protect personal data.

Based on your description, if Microsoft Copilot does not appear in Teams chat, one possible reason is that the required license has not been assigned to the affected user.

Please note that Copilot in Teams is part of the Microsoft 365 Copilot experience and requires both: a supported Microsoft 365 base license and a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.

Please ask your admin to check the following:

In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center https://admin.microsoft.com/AdminPortal/Home#/homepage

Go to Users > Active users > Select the affected user > Open Licenses and apps

Confirm that the Microsoft 365 Copilot license is assigned and enabled

Make sure the user is signed in with their work account in the latest Teams client.

Ask the user to fully sign out of Teams and sign back in after the license is assigned. In some cases, it may take some time for the Copilot features to appear. If your organization uses app permission policies in Teams Admin Center, verify that Copilot is not blocked.

Please also note that Microsoft 365 Copilot is different from the free consumer Copilot experience. Teams chat integration is only available for eligible business or enterprise accounts with the proper licensing.
