Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
I completely understand how urgent this situation must be, especially when you don't have access to the Microsoft admin account.
Before giving you the best solution, could you please confirm these questions below to help me diagnose the issue more effectively:
- First, I need to confirm that Is there any Microsoft tenant tied to your company?
- Do you already have company email accounts with the domain like @yourcompany.onmicrosoft.com that were working previously on Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, etc.)?
- Or are you only planning to move to Microsoft now and not sure if anything exists yet?
Scenario 1: If your goal is to recover access to a personal Microsoft account (for example Outlook.com, Hotmail, or a personal Microsoft login), the process is different from business/tenant recovery. For more information, please follow to these articles: How to sign in to a Microsoft account and Account recovery unsuccessful
Note: It’s important to note that personal account recovery is fully self-service. Unlike business tenants, there is no Data Protection team intervention for individual Microsoft accounts.
Scenario 2: If your company already has an existing Microsoft 365 tenant and you are unable to sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center because the Global Administrator account is no longer accessible.
The correct and recommended approach is to contact Microsoft Support and request assistance from the Data Protection team. They are the only team authorized to verify your organization’s ownership and restore administrative access, either by resetting the existing admin account or assigning Global Admin rights to a new user. For more information, please refer to Microsoft 365 tenant admin lockout – lost MFA for only Global Administrator
Scenario 3: On the other hand, if you are planning to move your business to Microsoft and are not dependent on any existing Microsoft 365 tenant or data, a much faster option would be to start fresh.
You can purchase a Microsoft 365 Business subscription and create a brand-new tenant for your organization. Once the new tenant is set up, you can then download any required data from your current personal accounts (such as Outlook or OneDrive) and manually transfer or migrate it into the new business accounts.
