Hello. What is the exact error message you received? A screenshot (with personal information removed) would be helpful. Also, is this an Outlook.com/Hotmail account, or are you using a third-party account (Gmail, Yahoo, ISP email) connected to Outlook?

Outlook.com enforces sending limits and other protections to reduce spam and abuse. Even if only a few messages were sent, the account can temporarily hit a limit if the system flags unusual activity or if the account is new or recently changed.

    Key points for Outlook.com:

    1. New or recently changed accounts
      • New Outlook.com accounts, or accounts that recently changed behavior (for example, new devices, many new recipients, or recent security checks), can be given a low sending quota at first.
      • This quota is temporarily restricted and is automatically increased as the account establishes credibility.
      • During this period, Outlook.com may show errors similar to “too many emails for today” even with a small number of messages.
    2. What to check and do
      • Make sure the account is not blocked and that sign-in is normal. If there were any security alerts or password changes, follow the prompts to verify identity and secure the account.
      • If the account is very new, wait 24–48 hours and try again; sending limits typically relax as normal usage continues.
      • Avoid sending the same content repeatedly or to many new recipients at once, as this can look like spam.
    3. If non‑delivery receipts appear
      • When a message bounces, the non‑delivery report usually includes a reason (invalid address, mailbox full, spam filters, etc.). Review that text to confirm whether the issue is a sending‑limit block or something else.
    4. When to contact support
      • If the account is established (not new), usage is normal, and the “too many emails” or similar sending‑limit error persists for more than a day, contact Outlook.com support from within the signed‑in account so they can review the sending status.
