Hello,

I want to include the holidays listed in the Outlook 365 Sweden 2026 Holiday Calendar into my own calendar. How can I do this?

Note:

I do not want the holidays in a separate calendar, I want to include these in my calendar.

Right now I can only use the web-version of Outlook, and it seems that the "Overlay" function is not available in this interface. Hence I want to include the contents of the holiday calendar into my own calendar.

    Hi Henrik Skovbjerg

I understand you want to add Sweden 2026 holidays into your own Outlook.com calendar instead of keeping them in a separate holiday calendar. I’m happy to help. Please confirm

    • Do you already have the Sweden 2026 holidays as an .ics file ?
    • Or do you have a web calendar link?

    In Outlook.com on the web:

    Please follow these steps:

Option 1: Import holidays into your own calendar (recommended for merging)

To place holidays directly into your main calendar, use an .ics file import:

    • Open Outlook.com Calendar
    • Click Add calendar
    • Select Upload from file
    • Choose your .ics file
    • Select your existing calendar as the destination
    • Click Import

    Important:

    • Imported events are a one-time snapshot
    • They do not update automatically if the source changes

Option 2: Subscribe to a web calendar (auto-updating)

If you use a calendar link instead:

    • Go to Calendar > Add calendar
    • Select Subscribe from web
    • Paste the calendar URL (.ics link)
    • Click Import

This creates a linked calendar that updates automatically.

    However:

    • The calendar remains separate from your main calendar
    • It is not merged into your default calendar

There is no built-in option to directly copy all events from a holiday calendar (such as Sweden holidays) into your default calendar in one step. For now, please kindly import an .ics file into your chosen calendar.

    Alternative: View calendars together

If you only need to see holidays alongside your own calendar:

Please tell me how it goes. If the problem persists, please don’t hesitate to reply to this thread and I will be happy to help. Have a lovely day!

In Outlook on the web and Outlook.com, the built‑in holiday calendars are always added as separate calendars under My calendars. The available actions are:

    1. Add the Sweden holiday calendar as its own calendar:
      1. Go to Calendar.
      2. Select Add calendar.
      3. Select Holidays.
      4. Choose the Sweden holiday calendar.
    2. Show it together with a personal calendar by turning both calendars on in the left pane. This displays holidays alongside personal events, but they remain in separate calendars.

The documentation only supports adding holidays as a separate holiday calendar; it does not provide a way in Outlook on the web to copy or merge those holiday events directly into an existing personal calendar.
