Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Based on your description, even though your delegate permissions are fully set up, you only receive meeting invitations when you are explicitly CC'd on them, rather than receiving them automatically on behalf of your bosses.
The most common reason for this behavior isn't actually the permission level (Editor/Reviewer) itself, but a specific delivery routing setting that must be configured on your bosses' side.
Before we look at the steps, could you let me know which Outlook platform your bosses are using to manage their settings (Outlook Classic for Windows or Outlook for Mac)? Since the adjustment must be made from their accounts, here is what they need to check depending on their environment:
Scenario 1: If your boss uses Outlook Classic (Windows)
Please have your boss open their Outlook Classic and follow these steps to check their routing rules:
- Go to File > Info > Account Settings > Delegate Access.
- Click on your name in the list.
- Look at the bottom of that dialog box for the section titled: "Deliver meeting requests and responses addressed to me and responses to meeting requests sent by me to:"
- Make sure they have selected either "My delegates and me"
Scenario 2: If your boss uses Outlook for Mac
If either of your bosses is operating on a Mac, the navigation is slightly different:
- Open Outlook for Mac and switch to the Calendar view.
- Right-click their primary calendar and select Sharing and Permissions
- Ensure that your account is listed and that the option to forward meeting invites/responses to the delegate is actively enabled.
Once your bosses update that specific delivery dropdown to include delegates, Exchange will immediately start routing a copy of all their incoming meeting requests straight to your Inbox.
Could you check with your bosses (or their profiles if you have access) to see how that specific "Deliver meeting requests..." routing dropdown is currently set?
