One-time purchase (not subscription). It says it was successfully installed and appears in my list of applications. But when I click on it, it wants me to buy it again.

Did you activate the software after installing? Activate Office for Mac

Did you have some other version of Mac Office installed prior to installing Office 2024? If so you may be incurring a Licensing issue. In that case see Remove Office license

On the main menu bar, click Word and then click Sign out. Restart your Mac and then start Word again. You should be prompted to sign in with your credentials.

For more on activation, have a look at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/activate-office-for-mac-7f6646b1-bb14-422a-9ad4-a53410fcefb2 .

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

To help narrow down the issue:

    1. Where did you purchase the license? Was it from the Microsoft website or a third-party seller?
    2. What is the exact product name you bought?
    3. Can you also check this: https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in. Do you see the specific product license listed there?
