The "Search" feature is not responding.

My new Surface Laptop "Search" feature on the taskbar and under the Start icon is not providing results. Only see an empty box and flickering or fading highlights, appears nothing is loading.

    Open Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters.

    Run Search and Indexing.

    Select Search or indexing is not working correctly and follow the prompts.

    Press Win+R, type services.msc, press Enter. Find Windows Search — ensure it's Running and set to Automatic. If stopped, right-click → Start

    Open Control Panel.

    Search for Indexing Options.

    Click Advanced.

    Under Troubleshooting, click Rebuild.

    Restart.

    Open Command Prompt as Admin and run these commands:

    sfc /scannow

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
