I've had a Calendar published in Outlook.com and it has been working for years. Now I am getting an error from the HTML shared link. I have tried resetting the link and also unpublishing and republishing but it still does not work.

Any suggestions?

    Hi Dillon

I understand that your published calendar in Outlook.com has stopped opening from the HTML link, even after you reset and republished it. I’m happy to help you. Please reply with:

    • whether the ICS link works
    • whether the HTML link fails in InPrivate mode or in a different browser
    • whether the problem happens only with this one calendar or also with a newly created test calendar

Please also try the following steps:

    • Test the ICS link instead of the HTML link.
      • When you publish a calendar in Outlook.com, there will be a webpage link and an ICS link. The webpage link is intended for browser viewing, while the ICS link can be used to subscribe to the calendar and receive updates automatically. If the ICS link still works, please use it while the HTML page is failing.
    • Test the published HTML link in an InPrivate/Incognito window or in another browser while signed out.
      • Open the published calendar link in an InPrivate window.

Please tell me how it goes. If the problem persists, please don’t hesitate to reply to this thread and I will be happy to help. Have a lovely day!

This issue is most likely on the Outlook.com service side rather than with the individual calendar, since unpublishing/republishing and regenerating the link did not help.

There is no additional client-side fix documented beyond the steps already tried (publish, unpublish, regenerate links). The supported options for a published calendar in Outlook.com are:

    1. Verify the calendar is correctly published
      1. In Outlook.com Calendar view, select Settings > Calendar > Shared calendars.
      2. Under Publish a calendar, choose the calendar and the level of detail, then select Publish.
      3. Use the generated HTML link to view in a browser, or the ICS link to subscribe in a calendar app.
    2. If the HTML link still fails, use the ICS link as a workaround
      • Recipients can use the ICS link to subscribe to the calendar in Outlook or another calendar app. They will see the calendar alongside their own and receive updates, but it remains read-only.
    3. If both links fail or the HTML view continues to show the error, contact Outlook.com support
      • In Outlook.com, select Help on the menu bar, describe the problem, and if self-help does not resolve it, scroll to Still need help? and choose Yes to open a support request.
      • If sign-in is not possible, use the dedicated Outlook.com support link from the documentation.

Because the publish/unpublish cycle and link reset have already been attempted, escalation to Outlook.com support is the next step so the backend error can be investigated and fixed.
