Phone number change outlook.com

The phone number used for Outlook.com sign-in and security is managed in the Microsoft account settings, not on the Outlook.com profile page.

To change the phone number on the account:

1. Go to the Microsoft account "how you sign in" page: Edit account info and sign in.
2. Under Your info, choose Add phone number to add the new number.
3. Follow the prompts to verify and add the new phone number.
4. If needed, select Remove next to the old phone number to delete it.

Notes:

• Email addresses and phone numbers on the Microsoft account are aliases and can be used to sign in.
• VOIP numbers cannot be added as a way to sign in or get verification codes.

If the goal is only to change contact numbers shown in Outlook on the web (not sign-in/security info):

1. Open Outlook on the web and go to the My account page.
2. In Contact numbers, add or edit work, fax, home, and mobile numbers. These are profile contact numbers and do not control sign-in.
