Hi, thank you for that information. In this case, I suggest doing an in-place upgrade, wherein it will upgrade the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.

Note: before doing this, make sure to create a restore point: https://support.microsoft.com/en-hk/help/4027538/windows-create-a-system-restore-point

    1. Go to this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
    2. Select Download Now, and select Run. You need to be an administrator to run this tool.
    3. On the License terms page, if you accept the license terms, select Accept.
    4. On the What do you want to do? page, select Upgrade this PC now, and then select Next.
    5. After downloading and installing, it should fix the issue.

As per checking and analyzing the event logs, there are multiple Disk errors. This error occurs when there is an issue with the file system, or there is a hardware-related problem which is on your hard drive. To sort out the issue, kindly follow the steps below:

Open Terminal (Admin) or Windows PowerShell(Admin) (Press Windows key + X then click Terminal(Admin))

Copy, paste, and enter the command below:

    chkdsk c: /f

Follow the prompt and restart the PC if needed.

Method 2. Do a clean boot:

A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.
    • On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
    • Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.
    • Close Task Manager.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.

Note: If the issue persists, a system repair might be necessary.

Use a step-by-step approach to narrow down why Roblox stops responding and crashes.

    1. Update Windows and drivers
    • Install the latest Windows updates: go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates and install everything offered.
    • On a Surface device, use the Surface app to check and install the latest firmware and driver updates:
      • Open the Surface app.
      • Expand Help & support and select Check for updates to open Windows Update and install available updates.
    1. Check if it’s tied to Roblox (a specific app) If Windows only freezes or Roblox stops responding when that game is running, treat it as an app-specific issue:
    • Make sure Roblox is fully updated.
    • If Roblox was installed from Microsoft Store, follow the general app repair steps:
      • Close and reopen the app.
      • Ensure Windows is up to date.
      • Update Microsoft Store itself via Microsoft Store > See more (…) > Downloads and updates > Get updates.
      • If problems persist, repair/reset the app using Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Roblox > Advanced options > Repair/Reset (if available).
    1. Update graphics components Crashes in games can be related to graphics components like DirectX or the display driver:
    • Install the latest DirectX runtime (as described in the DirectDraw/Direct3D troubleshooting article) and ensure the latest video driver is installed via Windows Update.
    • If the issue continues, update the video driver directly from Windows Update or the GPU vendor, as suggested in the Direct3D troubleshooting guidance.
    1. Reduce background interference Background apps and utilities can interfere with games:
    • Disable unnecessary startup apps:
      • Open Startup settings (or Settings > Apps > Startup) and turn off apps that are not needed when Windows starts.
    • If crashes still occur, perform a clean startup as described in the Direct3D troubleshooting article to see if a background program (such as antivirus or system utilities) is conflicting with Roblox.
    1. If Windows itself freezes more than once If the whole system becomes unresponsive (not just Roblox):
    • Use a forced shutdown and restart when Windows is frozen:
      • Hold the power button until the device shuts down and restarts and the Windows logo appears.
    • Then apply the additional stability steps:
      • Keep Surface drivers/firmware up to date via the Surface app.
      • Run a malware scan using Windows Security.
      • Free up drive space using Storage settings and remove unnecessary files.

If, after these steps, Roblox still crashes while other apps and games are stable, the problem is likely specific to Roblox or a particular game within Roblox, and contacting the game’s or Roblox’s support with crash details and Event Viewer logs would be the next step.
