How to fix "The tenant admin has disabled this bot" error for Teams Bot

We have a bot which was working fine, and then we stopped getting any events from azure bot. We are getting tenant admin disabled this bot

But we haven't disabled the app. Unable to debug this issue and have seen similar issues raised here, but none of those issues had resolutions. Stuck on this please help Screenshot 2026-05-26 at 3.24.48 PM

Hello Nihir Agarwal - Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention.
The Unblocked row in the Teams app view does not show the full picture — the "tenant admin disabled this bot" error is generated by the Teams runtime, and it can be caused by several settings that are not visible in App setup policies.

Check these in order

Azure Bot → Microsoft App ID → client secret expired? (Entra → App registrations → Certificates & secrets). This is the #1 silent cause — rotate the secret, update the bot config, redeploy.

Azure Bot → Channels → Microsoft Teams = Running (not errored).

Entra → Enterprise applications → your bot app → Enabled for users to sign in = Yes; admin consent still granted.

M365 Admin Center → Integrated apps — is the app blocked here? (Separate from Teams Admin Center.)

Teams Admin Center → Teams apps → Permission policies — does the policy assigned to affected users actually allow this app? (Different from the App setup policy in your screenshot.)

Developer Portal → your app → Publish status — not suspended/removed.

Purview DLP / Teams app governance — any policy scoped to the app.

Please recheck Teams Admin Center > Teams apps > Manage apps and ensure that your app is set to Allowed. Also validate the Org-wide app settings, especially that “Third-party apps” is enabled (if your bot is external).

You may also want to double-check the app permission policies using PowerShell: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/microsoftteams/get-csteamsapppermissionpolicy?view=teams-ps

If everything appears to be correctly configured on your side and the issue still persists, I recommend raising a support ticket with Microsoft so the engineering team can investigate further from the backend. Have checked it multiple times. Everything is as expected but the bot is still not working. It's not receiving any events

Hello @Nihir Agarwal Thanks for confirming. Since you’ve already checked the configuration multiple times and everything looks correct, may I ask if you’ve raised a Microsoft support ticket yet?

@Gabriel-N It got fixed without me doing anything. Seems like a bug on azure/teams which gets fixed automatically in some batch jobs
