All of my workspaces in Microsoft Edge have been completely wiped out for no apparent reason

I don't understand why, all of a sudden after restarting Microsoft Edge, all of my Workspaces disappeared without a trace and cannot be retrieved by any means. Each workspace contained information that is highly important to me personally. Now that the data has been wiped clean without any notice, how am I supposed to recover it? Microsoft Edge frequently encounters synchronization errors, but I still tried to tolerate using Edge in the hope that Microsoft would soon stabilize the syncing. However, after so many versions, the sync feature has repeatedly failed, and now look what happened, all of my workspaces have vanished. Furthermore, Edge only provides support through the community instead of allowing direct contact with the team responsible for Edge. What should I do now? Is my work supposed to be disrupted just because of an Edge sync error?

I had a local profile with several workspaces and it is completely wiped after the update. This is utterly ridiculous. Apparently the concept of a local profile is just removed and all settings are deleted without warning, or option to sync. Is there a way to roll back this change / edge version?

    Hi Trương Minh Tùng,

I understand how concerning it is to suddenly lose all your Workspaces, especially when they contained important tabs and ongoing work.

From similar cases, this is typically related to sync or profile state changes, rather than something visible within the browser itself. In these situations, recovery options are unfortunately limited if the Workspaces no longer appear in the list.

To rule out common edge cases, please try these quick checks:

    1. Test the same account on another device to confirm whether the data is still available in the cloud or tied to one device only.
    2. Create a new Edge profile and sign in - if Workspaces show there, the issue is likely with the original profile.
    3. Check OneDrive (if previously used with Workspaces) - look under: Apps > Microsoft Edge > Edge Workspaces for any remaining data.

If the Workspaces list is completely empty across devices and profiles, there isn’t currently a supported way to restore them automatically.

To help prevent similar impact, please consider saving critical tabs to Favorites or Collections as a backup. I know this is not the outcome you were hoping for, and I appreciate you raising it.
