This issue usually happens when the domain is already associated with another Microsoft tenant or when DNS propagation has not fully completed.
A few things to check:
Verify that the TXT verification record exactly matches the value provided in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Use a public DNS checker to confirm the TXT record for markfamily.us is visible globally.
Ensure there are no conflicting or duplicate TXT/MX records in GoDaddy DNS settings.
If the domain was previously connected to another Microsoft tenant, it must first be removed from that tenant before it can be verified in your current trial tenant.
Since you mentioned the Microsoft tenant does not match the domain, there is a strong possibility the domain is still attached to a different tenant. In that case, Microsoft Support may need to assist with a domain takeover/release process after ownership verification.
