Thanks for raising this. In SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA), the report format can be changed when you create the report. If “Always use Word” was selected earlier, you can reset it by creating a new report and choosing HTML as the output format.

Steps:
• Open your SSMA project.
• In Oracle Metadata Explorer, right‑click the schema or object → Create Report. • When prompted, select HTML instead of Word.
• The HTML report will be saved in your SSMA project folder and can be opened directly in a browser.

If the format prompt doesn’t appear, recreate the SSMA project. This clears the “always use Word” preference and lets you select HTML again.

In SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) for Oracle, the assessment report is generated as an HTML file by default. If “Word” (or another format) was chosen and set to “always,” reset it by explicitly creating a new HTML assessment report from the SSMA UI:

    1. Open SSMA for Oracle and your migration project.
    2. In Oracle Metadata Explorer, select the schemas or objects to assess.
    3. Right‑click Schemas (or the selected object) and choose Create Report.
    4. When prompted for the report format/location, choose HTML as the output format and complete the wizard.
    5. Open the newly generated HTML report from the default report folder under SSMAProjects.

If the “always use Word” choice is stored in SSMA settings and no prompt appears, delete and recreate the SSMA project, then run Create Report again so the format dialog is shown and HTML can be selected.
