I am not able to build agents in the project

I am not able to build agents in the project . i had created the resource jira-integration-testin-resource

i had checked IAM -> having Contributor as default one.

I need Azure AI User role, for my builds. so can you please help here to add the Azure AI User role.

It looks like your Contributor role on the Cognitive Services account isn’t enough to build agents—you need the Azure AI User role on that Foundry account. Here’s how you (or someone with higher privileges) can grant it:

In the Azure portal, go to /subscriptions/4d4fb10f-e7b4-4cdb-bcdc-c1aa40c1edf4/resourceGroups/Jira_Integration_Testing_RG/providers/Microsoft.CognitiveServices/accounts/jira-integration-testin-resource

Select Access control (IAM) → Role assignments → + Add → Add role assignment.

Under Role, pick Azure AI User.

Under Assign access to, choose User, group, or service principal, then find and select your user (or build identity).

Click Save.

If you don’t see the Azure AI User role or get an authorization error, you’ll need someone with one of these roles at that scope to do the assignment:

Owner

Role-Based Access Control Administrator

Azure AI Account Owner

Azure AI Project Manager

Daneshwaragowda Totad hi & thx for join me here at Q&A portal,

Contributor handles ARM/resource stuff, Azure AI User handles AI project/agent access, contributor is not always enough for Foundry Agents. u need the right data-plane role too. ask the subscription/resource owner to add Azure AI User on the Azure AI Foundry project or the AI resource jira-integration-testin-resource. They can do it in Portal resource > Access control (IAM) > Add role assignment > Azure AI User > select ur account > Review + assign. If u dont have Owner/User Access Administrator so u cant assign it yourself.

After assignment, sign out/in or wait a few minutes, then retry agent creation.
