Although there is the option to align a Victorian Curriculum rubric to the Reading Progress assignment, when I 'create' the rubric, the option to click 'Next' is grey - meaning I am not able to click on it.

I have tried with other curriculum rubrics, and the 'Next' button is still grey. Please let me know how to get this working?

Thank you in advance.

    Hi @14523845,

Thank you for posting your question on the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, it appears that you are unable to proceed when creating a rubric aligned to the Victorian Curriculum in Microsoft Teams Reading Progress because the “Next” button remains greyed out, which prevents you from completing the rubric setup. To better understand the situation, could you please clarify:

    • Does the issue occur in Teams web, the Teams desktop app, or both?
    • Is the issue affecting all classes and teachers, or only a specific class or your account?

In the meantime, you may try the following steps:

    1. Ensure required rubric fields are completed

The Next button in the rubric creation screen will remain disabled until all mandatory fields are filled in, such as:

    • Rubric title
    • At least one criterion
    • Performance levels for that criterion

Please confirm that these required sections have been completed.

    1. Try creating the rubric manually first

Instead of aligning the rubric during assignment creation, you can try creating the rubric first and then attaching it to the assignment.

    • Go to Teams > Assignments
    • Select Rubric > Create new
    • Create and save the rubric
    • Attach the saved rubric to the Reading Progress assignment

For reference: Create and manage grading rubrics in Microsoft Teams

    1. Try a different Teams version
    • Opening Teams in another browser
    • Using InPrivate/Incognito mode
    • Clearing browser cache
    • Trying the Teams desktop app
    1. Check the Teams app version

If you are using the desktop app:

    • Go to Settings > About > Version
    • Ensure the app is updated to the latest version
    • Sign out and sign back in to refresh the session
    1. Test in another class or assignment
    • Create a new Reading Progress assignment in another class
    • Try adding or aligning the rubric again

I hope the information above is helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out.
