Unable to download an app on my computer which I used just yesterday

I had the USBANK app on my computer which contains my banking information. It was working fine yesterday but not today. I can't seem to download the app now as I keep getting an error message basically stating that I cannot use this program on this computer, however, it works on my cell phone. Moreover, I've been using this app for years on this computer. I think that my recent download of Microsoft edge may be the culprit which contain the program Windows 11, version 24H2 (repair version).

    Hello Louis Eason!

Thanks for reaching out to the Q&A forum.

I see you're having trouble downloading the USBANK app on your computer. An error message indicates that the program cannot be used on this computer, even though the app continues to work properly on your cell phone and has been running on your PC for years. Here's what you can try:

    1. Edge checks

    • Open Edge settings and under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear > clear Cache & Cookies.
    • Then go to Privacy, search, and services to review and adjust settings that may affect downloads.

    2. Disable extensions temporarily

Some extensions (ad blockers, script blockers, privacy tools) can interfere with downloads.

    • Try downloading in InPrivate/Incognito mode. If it loads there, one of your extensions is likely causing the problem.
    • Open edge://extensions/ and temporarily disable them one by one to identify which one is blocking the download.

    3. Disable firewall, antivirus software, or VPN/proxy temporarily

Pause them briefly and retry. If successful, adjust settings or whitelist the U.S. Bank site.

    4. Use a Different Browser

Since the app works on your phone, as a temporary workaround, try using a different browser like Chrome or Firefox to download the app.

    5. Check app compatibility

Ensure the version you’re downloading is intended for PC, not the mobile release (APK or iOS).

To narrow this down, try downloading on another computer. If the same issue occurs, contact USBANK support to verify whether a PC version is still available. If desktop support has been discontinued, consider using the secure web portal of the bank for desktop access.

Hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes!
