Hi, recently I was forced logged out of my Teams account, this account was originally a Skype account that I've had for 10+ years, I remember my username and password, but I recently changed my phone number and no longer have access to it but when I try to log back into my Teams account it always ask for a number verification code, I have tried the recover method around 7/8 times, and it automatically sends me an email saying Unfortunately, we have determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account I'm sure that is because my original Skype details are incorrect as I put a false date of birth as I was slightly under the age of 18 and have lost access to the first email used for it, as I mentioned, I've had this account for 10+ years. I really need help getting this account back as it has some of the last things my dad who passed away wrote to me and other sentimental chats on there. If there's any advice, I'd appreciate it.

    Hi,

If your account is requiring verification through a phone number that you no longer have access to, and the account recovery form has already been rejected multiple times, recovery can be difficult because Microsoft must verify account ownership before granting access.

A few things that may help:

    1. Complete the account recovery form again and provide as much accurate historical information as possible.
    2. Include any previous passwords you remember using for the account.
    3. Include old Skype information, contacts, or other account details that may help establish ownership.
    4. If the account has an alternate email address or additional security information configured, try using those recovery options.
    5. Check whether you are able to sign in to other Microsoft services that may be linked to the same account.

To help provide more specific guidance, could you confirm:

    • Is this a personal Microsoft account or a work/school account?
    • Are you able to sign in successfully and only failing at the verification step, or are you unable to complete sign-in at all?
    • Do you still have access to any recovery email addresses associated with the account?

With those details, the community may be able to suggest additional options.

    Thank you.
