Hi Microsoft Support Team,

What kind of Fabric capacity is actually required to study for the DP-600 exam? I’ve spent several days trying to enable Microsoft Fabric Capacity across two accounts—my personal Gmail-based tenant (@gmail.com) and my work account (@malama.ca)—but neither account allows me to start a Fabric Trial or purchase any capacity. Although “Microsoft Fabric (Free)” appears in the Admin Center, there is no option anywhere to assign Fabric capacity, activate a trial, or create the Lakehouse/Notebook environment needed for exam preparation? The system keeps redirecting between accounts without a clear explanation of what is missing or why capacity can’t be enabled.

I’m simply trying to prepare for DP-600, yet enabling Fabric has become more difficult than the exam itself. what learners are expected to use if purchasing an F-SKU is the only option? Right now, the setup feels confusing and inconsistent, and it’s extremely frustrating for independent learners who just need a sandbox environment to practice.

Thanks a lot, Shenyi Bao

See this what I should do? I just prepare my personal exam. Nothing with my organization.

    You've selected Microsoft Fabric free

    Let's get you started

Your organization doesn't currently allow its users to purchase Microsoft Fabric free. Contact your IT admin for more information.

To prepare for the DP-600 exam, you will need to have access to Microsoft Fabric, which includes the ability to create and manage Lakehouse and Notebook environments. For this, you will require a Fabric capacity. The trial capacity available gives you free access for 60 days and is configured as either an F4 capacity (4 capacity units) or an F64 capacity (64 capacity units).

If you are unable to activate a trial or purchase capacity through your accounts, it may be due to the limitations of the accounts you are using. Ensure that you are using an account that is eligible for Microsoft Fabric and check if your organization has any restrictions on creating capacities.

For independent learners, the trial capacity should ideally suffice for exam preparation, allowing you to explore Fabric's features and functionalities. If you encounter persistent issues, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for assistance with your account setup.
