Reading Progress has stopped working in Teams on the iPad, in the Teams app and on the Edge app, stating it's not supported on this browser in both apps.

When opening Reading Progress it asks to allow the camera, there is a box across the video stating

'reading progress isn't supported on this broswer' then suggest trying Edge, when going to Edge, Teams will not open on the browser, asking it to be downloaded.

All have changed the relevant settings, cross-site tracking etc, pop-ups, and cookies - still no luck

I just posted that I was having the same problem, and then I put my hands on one of the ipads that I was troubleshooting last week and the assignment worked.

If the ipads are in low power mode, which they almost always are because, thats what students do. I go into our self service app store and click reinstall to force the app to update. Then I do a hard restart as the icing on the cake. It worked.

I am seeing this same issue. all the apps are up to date, the ipads are fully updated and cache in the browser and apps are all cleared.

It was 1 student last week and has now grown to 5 students.

    Dear Antoinette Hamilton,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with Reading Progress in Microsoft Teams on your iPad. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

    1. Ensure that both the Microsoft Teams app and the Edge browser are updated to their latest versions. Sometimes, updates include fixes for compatibility issues.
    2. Clear the cache and cookies for both the Teams app and the Edge browser. This can help resolve any corrupted data that might be causing the issue.
    3. Reading Progress might not be fully supported on all browsers. Since you're seeing a message about browser support, try using the latest version of Safari on your iPad, as it is the default browser and often has better compatibility with iOS apps.
    4. Double-check that the camera and microphone permissions are enabled for both the Teams app and the Edge browser. Go to your iPad's Settings > Privacy > Camera/Microphone and ensure that both apps have the necessary permissions.
    5. If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling both the Teams app and the Edge browser. This can sometimes resolve deeper issues that updates, and cache clearing do not.

If none of the above steps work, it could be a backend issue that requires Microsoft intervention. You can contact Microsoft support through the Teams help center or the Office 365 admin portal by going to Office 365 Admin Center (Admin permission is needed) > Support > New Service Request. The support engineers there have the correct escalation channel, and this is the most efficient way to report such issue. You can refer to Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn.

Let me know if you need further assistance. Please note that our initial response may not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can find a solution together. Thank you for your help.
